Techniques for Using a Food Processor

The use of a food processor will fully change the way you prepare meals. This kitchen gadget saves time by consistently cutting, slicing, and blending food, as well as avoiding the shoulder, neck, and back pressure that comes with traditional chopping. In no time, your food processor will be your secret ingredient, but there is a small learning curve. Don’t be turned off by the plethora of gadgets that come with your food processor. Two curved blades sit low within the work bowl of your food processor’s S blade. The S blade can work as a blender by making purees or it can roughly dice various types of foods depending on which setting you use on the food processor. Insert the S blade stem into the work tub, then add the food and the flat cover. Then either “On” for continuous blade action or “Pulse” for a short chopping action will be pressed. It’s also crucial not to overfill the work bowl with food because it requires space to travel around. To ensure that the blades can hit the food, chop it into pieces. Instead of putting an entire onion in the food processor, slice it into about 8 pieces with a knife and cutting board first. Then, in the food processor, dice it further by continuously pressing “Pulse” until the desired size or texture is achieved.

You must, however, remove the S blade from the work bowl first. The stem adapter should then be attached to the disk you intend to use. The stem should then be twisted into the work bowl or firmly pressed down. Link the cover with the “feed tube.” If required, do some preliminary prep work on the food, such as cutting it to fit inside the feed tube. Place the food to be shredded or sliced in the feed tube and turn the system on. To send food through the slicer or shredder, use the included food pusher to apply firm, steady pressure on it. You’ll have sliced or shredded food ready to go in a sandwich, stir fry, or another meal in seconds.
